PUB GRUB, LIVE SPORTS, GOOD TIMES.

The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel was established in 1872 during a time of rapid change on the Peninsula that would see Balmain become one of the premier industrial centre’s of Sydney. Traditionally Blue Collar, the ‘Arms’ spent many years as host to the Dockers and Wharfies whom worked out of the Mort Bay and White Bay industrial areas and had a reputation of being one of Balmain’s more colourful pubs known to people of questionable integrity.

The ‘Arms’ remained this way for around a century before undergoing renovations in 1996 where it became The Monkey Bar. After a successful era the pub would then change hands again in 2015 where it would be reverted to a traditional style pub with its original name of The Cricketer’s Arms.

The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel now back to its original namesake is located at 255 Darling St on the famous Balmain Peninsula and represents Balmain’s working class history.
